THE DARK KNIGHT

What can I say that hasn't already been said.? This movie is amazing. Heath Ledger is amazing. Christian Bale is amazing. Everything about this moving is amazing. Can you tell I liked it? It was dark and creepy, and you guessed it, amazing. And I don't care what people say, I like the raspy low tone of Christian Bale's voice when he's Batman. It's feakin' sexy as hell. And his lisp, sweet Jesus, when did lisps become hot? Christopher Nolan out did himself. My only sadness with the movie is since this was Heath's last, I would have liked to see his beautiful face, but he rocked the hell out of the Joker. It's sayin' something when you out act Jack Nicholson.

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 1&2

One of my friends asked if I wanted to go see the second one, and when I told her I hadn't seen the first she immediately brought it to me. I finally watched it and it was just lovely. It's like Sex and the City, fifteen years earlier, the unslutty years. All the actresses were great, especially Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel. And there's a hot greek guy in it too. Anyway, I cried about three times in the first one.

The second one I went to see last week and it too was good, not as good, but pretty good. I say rent the first one and wait for the second to come out on DVD. It was good though that I watched them so close together because it was like the story continued immediately, which I liked. Definitely a cute movie. Did I mention it has cute boys? Two of them with accents. Yum.

MAMMA MIA!

Everytime I saw this trailer it made me happy. In fact, on days that were particularly hard at work I would take two minutes and watch it, knowing that afterwards my day would be a little brighter.

I'm not really a fan of musicals, and I have to admit, there were some songs that were big snorefests, but I did enjoy watching Meryl Streep. But really, who wouldn't. I think this was one of the best roles I've ever seen her in. Pierce Brosnan singing left much to be desired, he should just stand there and look pretty instead, but it wasn't so so terrible.

I went to see it with my girlfriends, and this is one of those that you have to see with a bunch of girls. No offense guys, but you do. In the theatre with us though was a group of old folks. And I don't mean four or five people, I mean they bused in like a hundred and fifty from some old folks home. They were all fun though. Definitely rent it when it comes out, so you can skip some of the songs and just enjoy the cute story.

SEX AND THE CITY

I don't think this is still in theatres, but that's okay. In a few months it'll be on DVD and it's a must rent. If you liked the show that is. This movie is like one long episode. It's been a few years since the show, and as someone who sat down in front of the TV, no Tivo, every Sunday night, it was a sight for sore eyes. I missed my somewhat slutty fictional girlfriends and their hot bodied boyfriends. And, for the ladies, somewhere near the end Samantha walks in on something that when it's out on video I'm pausing, rewinding, blowing up and making my screensaver. Trust.

WANTED

I feel like my first movie review back should be of one of my favorite movies this summer. Wanted. I'd anticipated this for months. Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy in one movie. I think I just about had a heart attack when I saw the first preview.

Well, the movie delivered. Directed by the Russian director Timur SomethingreallyRussian, who did two of the most innovative movies out since The Matrix (yeah, I said it) Night Watch and Day Watch, I knew this was going to be action packed and visually stunning. It was. Angelina (we're friends) and James (we're lovers) played the parts beautifully and the fight scenes were stellar. And for keen eyes you might see the star of the Watch movies as a rat loving assassin.

I'm not sure if this is still in theatres, but if it is, try to catch it while it's still on the big screen. You won't be disappointed.
